Bhagheeratha Engineering Ltd (BEL) was incorporated as a Private Limited company on 26th November, 1976 by merging four specialised construction firms viz. Kuttanad Engineering Corporation, Skilled Contractors, Premier Engineering Corporation and Jact Construction Company. The company became a Public Limited Company in 1980. The company which acquired the business of four erstwhile firms branched into other areas of specialised construction also. The main promoters of the company are Shri V C Antony and Shri M K Chacko. Mr. V C Antony is the founder Managing Director of Bhagheeratha Engineering Ltd. An undergraduate, he has around 40 years experience in construction business and has expertise in construction of railway line, roads, bridges and tunnels. He is a member, Executive Committee of Overseas Construction Council of India, Member - Board of Governors of National Institute of Construction Management & Research and member Engineering Export Promotion Council of India. Formerly he was President of Confederation of Engineering Industry, Kerala Chapter and Member Telephone Advisory Board. He is widely travelled and has visited several countries for promoting business activities.
