Zepto has announced that it will undertake a pre-IPO private placement before moving ahead with its planned stock market debut. The company has reached an agreement with its major shareholders to raise additional equity capital, a move aimed at further strengthening its financial position ahead of the public listing. As of March 31, 2026, Zepto reported a cash balance of ₹5,681 crore with no debt, underscoring its strong balance sheet. While the company's board and founders have received encouraging interest from public market investors, Zepto said its immediate focus remains on business execution, growth, and operational performance rather than accelerating the IPO timeline. The company also plans to update its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with its latest financial and operating results before launching the issue, which it intends to complete within the timeline approved by SEBI. The announcement comes after media reports indicated that Zepto was considering raising around ₹1,000 crore through a pre-IPO funding round following investor concerns over its earlier valuation. The fresh capital is expected to bolster the company's finances, increase domestic shareholding ahead of the offering, and enhance investor confidence by ensuring stronger financial disclosures and a smoother transition to becoming a publicly listed company.
