Studds Accessories Ltd., an Indian helmet manufacturer, expects demand to increase in the next three years due to personal mobility vehicles and new road safety rules.
Studds Accessories plans to double its market share in India over the next three years. Sidhartha Bhushan Khurana, MD of Studds Accessories Ltd, has verified the development. Earlier this year, the corporation opened two additional facilities, increasing production capacity to 14 million devices annually. Studds presently has a 30% market share in the helmet area and hopes to capitalize on the post-COVID push for personal mobility. The firm has enormous development potential in India, the world's largest two-wheeler market.
Sidhartha Bhushan Khurana told car and bike about the company's expansion plans: "Studds presently holds roughly 30% of the Indian helmet market, making it the country's largest helmet maker. Despite the COVID-induced lockout, we have seen a sustained increase in sales and market demand. We want to gain 40% of the helmet market in the next 3 years."
Khurana explained, "Given the current situation and connections with China, India has the potential to become a worldwide export powerhouse. We have the manpower and resources to make items for the global market, and most Indian helmet manufacturers export worldwide. We also ship Studds and SMK to over 40 countries in Europe, the USA, Canada, Latin America, and Asia. Our brands are sold in Australia and Africa."
To build Asia's largest helmet manufacturing factory, Studds invested over 200 crores in Haryana earlier this year. Construction of a 5.5-acre factory. The project cost 160 crores, with the remaining 40 crores going into a new 1.5-acre manufacturing unit for Expanded Polystyrene (EPS). Almost all parts utilized in a Studds helmet are made locally. Following the epidemic, the firm increased its operations to create PPE for crucial health personnel.
