Created at 01 Feb 2022 04:13

With the latest infrastructure, industry-oriented courseware, and training, the government on Monday signed an agreement with Tata Technologies to transform 149 government-owned Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into Centres of Excellence (CoE).

Jibesh Kumar, state labor resources minister, said it will transform the state's technology landscape and improve upskilling and employment opportunities for Bihar's youth. Because the state is preparing its workforce and providing an industrial platform through these centers, it will become an attractive investment destination for companies eager to embrace Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing technologies.

In addition to electric vehicles, robotics, digital manufacturing, automation, and artisanship will be covered by the centers. Students can expect multiple certifications from technology providers in addition to the CoE certifications, leading to better job opportunities.”

The MoA will transform ITIs in two phases to implement high-social impact projects that complement the government's nation-building efforts. Students and employers will benefit from the advanced skill sets provided by the MSMEs. This project will cost around Rs4606.97 crore.

“This collaboration will help us provide the best possible technology training ecosystem,” said Vandana Kini, deputy chief secretary. To attract investments and create jobs, we want to train and empower Bihar's youth through the ‘Saat Nischay Part-2 plan.

“We intend to leverage our digital engineering expertise and manufacturing domain knowledge to develop future-ready courseware and training platform that allows students to develop their capabilities in the latest technology,” said Warren Harris, managing director/CEO of Tata Technologies.
