Groww, Zerodha and other large retail brokers are likely to soon offer the Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India (MSE) as an additional exchange option for cash-market trading. According to people familiar with the development, both Groww and Zerodha are currently testing their integration with MSE, with the process expected to take around three to four months. The move could significantly strengthen MSE’s position in India’s equity market by bringing more retail investors and improving liquidity. MSE currently records daily cash-market turnover of around ₹400–500 crore, with a large portion of activity coming from proprietary trading firms and brokers such as Zanskar and Jainam.
MSE had raised ₹1,240 crore in two funding rounds in December 2024 and August 2025, with Groww and Zerodha among the participating brokerage firms. The exchange is also preparing to launch its futures and options (F&O) segment, likely around the same three-to-four-month timeframe. However, MSE plans to proceed only after its cash market achieves sustainable trading volumes. The proposed broker integrations could help diversify MSE’s trading base and reduce its dependence on proprietary participants.
