ASK Investment Managers Limited
Created at 30 Sep 2026 19:02

Backed by global investment firm Blackstone, ASK Investment Managers has agreed to acquire SageOne Investment Managers in a deal estimated to be worth ₹1,500–2,000 crore. The acquisition aims to strengthen ASK’s equity investment business and expand its presence in India’s asset management industry. Following the deal, the combined business is expected to manage assets worth approximately ₹85,000 crore. SageOne, founded in 2012, manages over ₹9,000 crore through Portfolio Management Services (PMS) and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), with a focus on mid-cap and small-cap stocks. Its founder, Samit Vartak, will reinvest an undisclosed amount in ASK and take charge as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for equities in the combined business. Blackstone will continue as the majority shareholder. SageOne has reported strong long-term performance, with its flagship Core Portfolio delivering annualised returns of 25.3% between April 2012 and August 2026, compared with 13.8% for the BSE 500 Total Return Index, according to company figures. The transaction is subject to regulatory and investor approvals. The acquisition is expected to combine ASK’s scale and distribution network with SageOne’s investment expertise and research capabilities, creating a stronger platform for equity investments in India.
