The Indian Premier League (IPL) has expanded far beyond just a sporting event, with valuations steadily increasing since its debut. According to Houlihan Lokey, an independent global investment bank, the IPL has attained a remarkable valuation of $16.4 billion (or approximately Rs 1.3 lakh crore) this season.
The sporting event's valuation has increased by 6.5 percent over the previous season, reaching $15.4 billion.
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been the most valued IPL franchise, with a brand value of $231 million. The squad has advanced to the playoffs in 12 of their 15 seasons. Notably, former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has played an important role in CSK's success, both as a player and as the franchise's face.
Rajasthan Royals (RR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and Delhi Capitals (DC) all have extremely similar brand values.
Gujarat Titans finished seventh, with a brand value of $124.0 million. The Punjab Kings (PK) came in second with a brand worth of $101.0 million, while the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) finished third with a brand value of $91.0 million.
