Philips, a health technology and consumer durables company, wants to invest more than Rs 300 crore and hire 1,500 people in India over the next one or two years, according to its global CEO Frans Van Houten. He said: As a company, we're looking to India as a potential growth area. We believe that India is a fantastic place to do business. We take full advantage of the talent that India has to offer. Due to the importance of the market and its workers, we should expect to see more local production in India. In response, we're growing our manufacturing operations in Pune and adding additional jobs to the city, as well.
